Leadership
Jessie Massey, Director
Ms. Massey is a Denver native, but she explored the East Coast in college, graduating from Colgate University with a degree in Spanish and a minor in Educational Studies. She missed our beautiful state and decided to move home to pursue her career in education. She began teaching at Adventure Elementary, another Mapleton school, and taught Spanish Literacy, 1st, 2nd and 4thgrades in her time there. She then joined the community at Valley View K-8, serving as the Instructional Guide and Assistant Director. Most recently, she has been the Assistant Director at Global Intermediate Academy. A lifelong learner, Ms. Massey has a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Denver University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Regis University.
Ms. Massey is thrilled to return to a school that partners with EL Education. She is excited to work with the staff and families to support students’ development in the 3 Dimensions of Achievement: Mastery of Knowledge and Skills, Character and High-Quality Work.
Ms. Massey and her husband live in Denver with their two daughters, ages 4 and 2, who are also part of the Mapleton Family. Both girls attend Global Primary Academy.
Chua Vue, Assistant Director
On behalf of the staff at Trailside Academy, I am happy to welcome you to the 2023-2024 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education.
As the new Assistant Director, I would like to take a moment to introduce myself to you. I’ve been a proud educator for 24 years and have served our student population in many different capacities such as a classroom elementary teacher, Culturally Linguistically Diverse teacher, Instructional Coach, Director, and mentor. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder and my Master’s Degree from Regis University. I strive to live a well-balanced life so that I have interesting stories and experiences to share with my students. I believe that learning is a journey, not a destination; therefore, I continue to challenge myself to new heights in life like camping, skiing, hiking, leading, empowering, and parenting. Being an educator is a calling and one of the most rewarding occupations out there. I encourage you to reach out to me at 303-853-3042.
